From Victoria to South Korea

sunny 36 °C

This is the beginning of my three and a half month adventure!
I left Victoria on August 29th and arrived in Seoul, South Korea the next day. It was a tiring plane ride, and I was exhausted by the time I arrived at Samantha and Byron's apartment. After some fried Korean chicken and a beer I was off to bed.

Some pictures of the apartment..

Samantha and I got lunch from a street vendor selling Gimbap. It looks like sushi.. but is filled with ham, pickled radish, egg and mushrooms. We also bought gross sweets from the underground subway. They were gooey and filled with spiced sweet bean paste. After googling, we discovered it is called Songpyeon.

On our first full day in Korea we took the bus to Bongeunsa, a temple in the heart of downtown Gangnam gu.

All in all a great first day in Seoul! I'm excited to see what's in store for the rest of the week!
